make a statement monday

we have been celebrating a lot of birthdays lately here at spicy designs and wanted to let you know of a super cute gift idea for your loved ones...SCRIPTURE TOTES! say "bah-bye!" to the plain old maroon pleather and "hello!" to funky and fresh designer fabrics with fabulous details and accents! spicy offers two unique scripture tote designs...

the pyper

and the libby

both totes boast designer fabric exterior with synthetic leather accents, straps, and bottom of the bag. they hold the entire standard works plus a manual, and have a zippered pocket and easy access fabric pocket, as well as spots for pens and pencils.

but this tote is extremely versatile and can be used as a regular purse too! one of our client's purchased three pyper totes to use as purses and sent us the following note:

"dearest accessory gurus, {spicy designs...DUH!!!}

thanks for the cutest purses EVER! my older sister and i are going to texas to surprise my younger sister for her birthday. i thought having adorable totes was a MUST! thanks for making it a reality!"

so whether your friend, sister, or self is having a birthday, be sure to visit our "sassy" and "playful" tabs and check out these great totes!

Craft Lake City to Celebrate the Do-It-Yourself Craft Movement
130 Local Artists will vend at festival on August 14, and the movie Handmade Nation will be screened August 15

SALT LAKE CITY, July 27, 2010 – SLUG Magazine is proud to announce their festival, Craft Lake City (CLC), which celebrates alternative craft and all things handmade {and spicy designs will be there!}. A movement is taking place all across Utah in spare bedrooms, family rooms and garages. The movement is called do-it-yourself or alternative crafting, and artists are making everything from soap, to stuffed animals, to recycled clothing {and super spicy bags, baby blazers and hats, and pillows}. Women and men are making and selling their own goods, lashing out at sweat shops and striking a blow against exploitive business practices often associated with big business.

The second annual CLC will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Gallivan Avenue, behind the Wells Fargo Building, in downtown Salt Lake City. The event is free and open to the public. A panel of local artist selected 130 of the best Utah crafters to vend at the event.

we'd love to see you there!
